Where can I purchase a LifeFile?

This website (via a downloadable PDF Order Form) is the best location to purchase LifeFile for yourself, your family, your employees, your business or organization.  Many attorneys, CPAs, CFPs and health care providers distribute them to their clients . . . and some will even help you fill them out; just ask!

What kind of computer and software do I need to use LifeFile?

LifeFile v.6 is fully compatible with Windows and Macintosh computers using either Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat Professional software. Within the limits of Acrobat Reader, you may fill out the form on your computer and print it out, but you cannot save it with the information you entered. You may find it easier to print out a blank LifeFile and complete it manually.

How does password protection work?

We only recommend password protection if you have Adobe Acrobat Professional because you can save your LifeFile with the information you have entered. A password of your choosing is required to open your PDF LifeFile at each launch.

LifeFile takes your security very seriously. We will never sell or share your information or password,
but will keep a record of your password should it ever be forgotten or misplaced.

How many LifeFiles do I and/or my family need?

One LifeFile can usually accommodate the information of an individual, a couple—to a family of five.

Do you accept VISA or MasterCard?

No, for the simple reason of keeping the cost low.

How much is Shipping & Handling?

We pay the postage for shipping you a CD; small quantities are delivered via email!

Where should I store my LifeFile once it's completed?

If you distribute the ID cards, your LifeFile should be reasonably easy to find on your computer, or if you print it out, in a filing cabinet. You may also copy your LifeFile to a floppy disk or burn it to a CD. One of the founding principles of LifeFile is to have information that's easily accessible by family or friends in a reasonably secure, unlocked location. Although you may include some sensitive data, we hope your LifeFile will act as a bridge to professionals who maintain your more important or secure information. We do not recommend you store your LifeFile in a safe deposit box; its access could be limited and time consuming.

Does LifeFile come in different languages
?

We've always felt that LifeFile has a universal appeal. Families and individuals need to communicate regardless of where they live. One of our goals for the future is to develop a Spanish language version.

In 2001, we licensed a LifeFile version for Australia and New Zealand. Although still in English, there were modifications addressing unique customs and terminology.
